How this course runs
The shape of the twelve lessons, the practice company you will work for, and what you should have produced by the end.
Every lesson from here has the same shape: a short piece of reasoning, then an exercise you actually do in your own workspace, then a note on what typically goes wrong. Nothing is watched, nothing is graded, and there is nothing to sign up for.
You have a job now
For the rest of the course you are Senior Product Manager, Activation & Onboarding at TaskFlow. TaskFlow is Project management software for teams that work across time zones. It is Series B, founded 2021, 50 people. You own activation rate, time to first value, and week-one feature adoption.
Three people recur in the exercises, and they disagree with each other on purpose:
- Sarah Okonkwo — Workspace admin, 400-seat customer
- Buys on control: single sign-on, audit trail, who-can-see-what. Will not champion a feature she cannot govern.
- Mike Delgado — Backend engineer, uses it daily
- Wants speed and the integrations he already lives in. Abandons anything that adds a step to filing a ticket.
- Alex Renner — Team lead, eleven reports
- Needs to see where work actually is without asking. Reporting is the reason he opens the product at all.

What you will have made by the end
- A workspace with real context that keeps paying off after the course ends
- A project rules file that makes the agent write in your voice rather than in consultant-English
- Two re-runnable workflows — a weekly update and a research digest
- A PRD drafted from evidence, reviewed from three hostile angles
- An analysis of a deliberately messy export, with the caveats stated
- A strategy you have had to defend against your own agent
The one rule
Do not let the agent make a product decision. It drafts, it argues, it summarises, it catches what you missed at eleven at night. The judgement about what to build is the part of the job that is yours, and handing it over produces documents that are internally consistent and strategically empty. Every method in Module 2 is built to keep you in the decision seat.
