Install it, and open it once
Where the download actually comes from, what the first-run screens ask, and the one setting worth changing before you start.
Antigravity is downloaded from Google and from nowhere else. Get it from antigravity.google. This site hosts no installer, mirrors nothing, and will never ask you to sign in to anything.
Search results for a popular new tool fill up with look-alike download pages within
weeks. Check the address bar reads antigravity.google before you download,
and never enter your Google password on a page you arrived at from a search advert. If a
page offers you a “faster” or “patched” build, close it.

What the first run asks you
- Sign in with a Google account. Use whichever account you are content to have associated with your drafts. Many people keep a personal account for tools like this and a work account for work; pick deliberately, because moving later is tedious.
- Choose a theme and a keymap. Cosmetic. If you have never used VS Code, take the defaults.
- Import from an existing editor. Skip it. You do not need extensions.
- Browser extension prompt. Antigravity can drive a browser to check work and record what it did. You do not need this for Modules 0 and 1. Decide in lesson 2.3, when there is an actual reason.
The one setting worth changing now
Find the agent’s autonomy or approval setting and put it on the level that asks before it writes files. Different builds label this differently — look for “review before applying”, “ask before edits” or an autonomy slider in settings.
The reason is not caution for its own sake. Watching the agent ask before each write for the first week is how you learn what it decides to do on its own, which is the thing you actually need to calibrate. Turn it up later, once you can predict it.
If it will not start
- It opens and immediately closes (Windows)
- Almost always a corporate device policy blocking an unsigned or newly-signed executable. Your IT team has to allow it; there is no workaround you should be attempting.
- “Cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified” (macOS)
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and allow it there, after confirming you downloaded it from Google.
- Sign-in loops back to the sign-in screen
- Usually a work account under a policy that blocks third-party sign-in. Try a personal account to confirm, then take the policy question to IT.
- Rate limited on the first prompt
- The preview has usage limits that vary. Switch model, or come back later. It is not broken.
None of these are things this site can fix, and none of them are things you should solve by downloading a build from somewhere else.
